Appearance

Handsome in every sense of the word, it almost appears as if the subsequent tattoos, piercings and body modifications have been some attempt at defiling his beauty. The humanesque guise of the demon shows none of the creature's actual age, placing him in a fit and toned physique. Long red hair is hardly ever tied back, and rarely tamed, as if he has an aversion to brushing the cerise locks. His eyes nearly match his hair in color and sheen, never yielding in their contempt-filled stare.

Personality

Romaru is a literal conundrum, as he is a socialable creature with little-to-no social skills; preferring to intermingle with society for the sole purpose of spreading chaos like an infectious disease. He lives for disruption of the natural order, cutting a swath of fury through even the most calm and contained crowds and inciting malice in the sweetest, most affectionate of beings. Crude, rude and positively obnoxious, Romaru is self-serving and answers to only one - a being he calls 'Father', though it is questionable if the demon shares any ties at all with Valadar Deveny. Above all else, signs of affection between others or the exposition of love can, and will send Kageromaru into a violent rage - intent on destroying everything and anyone tied to the feeling.

History

A traditional Retriever is a mindless construct, created with the intention of being a warrior or servant that specializes in retrieving lost, stolen and desired objects, runaway slaves and enemies bringing them back to their Master; in Kageromaru's case, his father, Valadar Deveny. Kageromaru does not entirely fit the typical profile of a Retriever, as he is not a mindless drone; while he is completely submissive to Valadar, he is quite intelligent with a swift-wit, quick-temper and insatiable need to fulfil his own destructive urges.

Created from the flesh of their Master, Kageromaru and Korosukyuui were born each with twins of their own - all with the same Father, but with created with separate intentions in mind. Korosukyuui is usually always stationed at the side of Valadar as both bodyguard and servant in her station of Princess of Onigu, though occasionally she is sent off for other duties. Kageromaru, on the other hand, was created for more brutish purposes - claiming and destroying everything Valadar deemed a target, and the redhead once took great pleasure in doing so.

Formerly, Romaru served as guard to Empress Asami of Setsuban, Molvonos De'Stregoi and the former King of Burmecia, Yahari Cyf. His new purpose of traversing the world of Elyu awaits to be seen.

COMBAT
Romaru is a bruiser, preferring hand to hand combat and the art of swordsmanship. His weapon of choice is a katana, or a heavy broadsword.

Magical & Innate Abilities

Find Target: When ordered to find an item or a creature, a retriever does so unerringly, as though guided by discern location. The being giving the order must have seen (or must have an item belonging to) the creature to be found, or must have touched the object to be located.

Improved Grab: To use this ability, a retriever must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and grips the opponent fast in its mouth. This is the method by which it usually “retrieves” things. In Kageormaru's case, his 'bite' in human guise is not simply limited to the fangs in his mouth but also his claw-like nails.

Dark Vision: Can see in the total darkness up to 60 ft. Dark vision is the ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Dark vision is black and white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise—invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, dark vision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil dark vision.

Low-Light Vision: A creature with low-light vision can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of shadowy illumination. It retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. A spell caster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to her as a source of light.

Fast Healing: Regenerates health and wounds at an extraordinary rate.

ADVANTAGES

Strength: Imbued with an incredible, otherworldly strength, Romaru is like most demons in the fact that he possesses a physical prowess far beyond that of a human being.

Teleportation: Demons and Devils both can teleport by moving out of Elyu to demonic planes and then back again. The jaunts are dangerous, because it requires a fast stepping from Elyu to the hellish realm itself, and one never knows what it might encounter.

Alternate Form: While on Elyu, Romaru has an alternate form that is more appealing to mortals in the sense he is more human in guise, however, the intense modifications made to his body and the bright red hair and eyes often strikes a disruptive chord from the expected norm.

Demonic Defenses: Confined by the particulars of his creator, Romaru bares immunities to fire and certain poisons, especially of a gaseous nature as Valadar is often consumed by a cloud of miasma.

Elemental Advantage: Because demons and devils are not from Elyu itself, the use of the Source is limited to them. However, the element of fire and shadow seems to naturally respond to their desires. This includes the elements of earth and flame, as well as any spell that is explosive or destructive. Spells that are protective in nature can also be casted. Beyond just an element, the darkness of the Source itself can be a state of being. It is strong, hot, explosive, emotional, and dangerous. Everything creatures from hell are and more.

Negative Energy Empowerment: Hellspawn gain power by corrupting mortals. By creating negative or dark emotions within mortals, a hellspawn can even gain influence in hell. This includes manipulating a mortal to sin, like through lust, envy, and greed. More influence, more power. Some demons take this to the next level, actually feeding upon the negative emotions of others.

Demon Form: While he cannot assume his true form, Kageromaru has occasionally been known to warp into some wild monstrosity that few have ever seen and is capable inflicting Fear into his victims.

Chaotic: Demons by their nature are chaotic, they want for destruction and war. They might follow the orders of a superior demon, but they do so for their own gain.

DISADVANTAGES

Elemental: Weakness against the elements of air, water and also, ice.

True Name: Every demon or devil has a true name, and that is the name they were first born with. Only Valadar and his twin Korosukyuui know Kageromaru's true name. Like all demons - his True Name is a source of control, and any that speak it gain utter leverage over him.

Hell Touched: The scent of brimstone, a trademark of the hellspawn can be detected only by the most keen of senses, otherwise it is masked by the bold scent of cinnamon and allspice.

Soul/Body Bond: Unlike mortals, demon's and devil's souls are directly connected to their body. Their body is a manifestation of that soul. There is no separation between the two. Spells and abilities that affect a soul, affect the demon's body as well. And when a demon is killed, he is sent back to hell, body and soul, to start a new existence as a powerless grub.

Weakness against Good: Spells that are holy or drawn from positive energy can cause extreme damage or even banish him.

Banishing: Prone to banishment.
